Amanda McIntyre
My father was in the publishing business. From my early days reading of Vampirella and Alfred Hitchcock, to writing a Fine Arts column supporting music education, my quirky zest for experiencing life has provided fertile ground for my creative story ideas.
These have transpired into a number of published works in contemporary, paranormal and historical women's fiction, as well as non-fiction books. My work is described as "superbly sensual, powerful, emotional, and character-driven." In fact, I have a friend who tells me that she hopes she never comes back as one of my characters, I suppose because of what I do to them. But life and love is a messy thing, right? That, to me is what makes the HEA all the more sweet! I love to challenge them and my readers to look beyond the ordinary to the extraordinary, where anything is possible!
A Midwestern gal, born and bread, I love small town life within proximity to the amenities of the hustle and bustle of city just an hour away. My love for art transcends into my writing, making me a "visual" writer.( I give credit to my fantastic art teacher, Mrs. Nebola for encouraging my imagination and creativity) I like to think that I now "paint with words" what I once painted with a brush. I love to sculpt out a story--from researching odd bits of history, to creating my characters personalities along with their baggage, hopes, dreams and always their secrets! I read and write romance packed with heat, a few twists and turns (okay, maybe a number of those) and putting ordinary folks into extraordinary situations to see how they manage their HEA (happily ever after) Should I mention here that I loved "Fractured Fairytales" on the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show? Besides loving to travel, the BBC, holding an avid fascination of the Great Lakes and its lighthouses, and a having a penchant for walking in old cemeteries and abandoned houses, I love to hear from readers!
